Siphonic V 2


V2 Is the final version for the Game Off 25 jam, but i plan to have more updates in the future. 


The main focus of this update is the addition of combat. It adds the first enemy and the nematocyte.  I hope that this will add more complexity to strategic building and planning.

The size of the area food spawns in around the player has been increased significantly, but the density has been proportionally decreased. I haven't experienced any optimization issues myself but I am not sure if that would change by increasing the total amount of detritus spawned so i have chosen to just leave it alone for now. I'm also not sure what density would be best when considering balancing so if you have any feedback on whether the current version has too much or too little please tell me!

The method of scrolling has been changed to holding right click instead of the old system for QoL

I made some slight changes to the code for following cells. I know the whole system is pretty janky, as cells tend to fall apart or turn into death spirals and get cut off from the player cell when making sharp turns, but i don't have the coding knowledge to make any functioning good physics sims or anything. I might try to fix it in the future.

I'm aware of a couple bugs in game and am working to fix them, so if you find any please leave a comment or something.

Thank you to everyone who has played or left feedback on my garbage attempt to learn to code, it means a lot to me :D I might be taking a short break after this as getting the game out for the jam although fun was a little stressful. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!
